The author has discovered an interesting inscription which belongs to Nagadeva of 977 A.D. The inscription hither to was not available inspite of the fame of Nagadeva the husband of Attimabbe. The author says since Attimabbe was in the limelight, the brave personality of Nagadeva has not been highlighted by the literary sources; their interest was to extole the Jainistic personality of Attimabbe. The author opines the belief that the Tailapa the Kalyani Chalukya King defeated or overcome Rashtrakootas by 973 A.D. is not tenable and that date may have to be extended to 977 A.D.
