Karnataka Itihasa Academy conducts annual seminar every year in a historical town/village in Karnataka. Seminar offers an excellent opportunity to people from all walks of life to present papers on their historical findings and historical research. Academy has conducted 37 conferences in different parts of the state so far. Scholars from universities as well as common people have submitted their papers and brought out many unknown places, unique artifacts, inscriptions, memorial stones, sculptures and temples to the fore. Several scholars of Karnataka have adored the chair of conference. Annual publication, ‘Itihasa Darsana‘ which is published every year contains information about the proceedings of the seminar and the research papers presented for that year. First issue of the journal was published in 1986. 38 volumes have been published so far by the academy. A strict peer review process is in place for every stage- from accepting research papers for the seminar, review by scholars during presentation at the conference to publishing the reviewed research paper in the Itihasa Darsana journal. Due to this rigorous review process by eminent scholars and editors, Itihasa Darsana has earned reputation of being the most respected journal in the field of history in Karnataka. Papers published in 38 volumes of Itihasa Darsana journals cater to more than 90 topics in the field of history and hence the journal has been an important source of reference for researchers, students and scholars.
