Dr. Nanjunda Swamy has brought to our attention duly de describing the inscriptionally noted veerabhadra temple at Nanjanagud which is in dilapidated condition. He has also mentioned the different veerashaiva mutts existing at Nanjunagud. He opines the veerabhadra temple was Hiriyamatha otherwise called mahamanthina mutt. He also draws our attention towards the stone idol of Tontada Siddalinga found at the Kapila Mallikarjunaswamy temple on the banks of kapila river duly describing the architecture. He opines this place may be the palace of anushtana of Tontada siddalinga during his religious tour.
