The author draws our attention to a kajpiet writing, regarding the commentary of Basavapuranam. A conflict arose among Lingayats and Brahmins since a derogatory remarks on Brahmins during the Lectures by Lingayats. This has been challenged by Brahmins and made an attempt to remove the derogatory remarks on Brahmins. All these gives an account of social and cultural life in the early decades of 20th century and also the conflicts and their redressal.
